Lower Grades Art Classes!
Art in the Lower Grades play a key role in students development of creativity and imagination. Art also encourages Problem Solving Skills and promotes freedom of expression.
In the Lower Grades, (Pre-K-4th) we work on developing our fine and gross motor skills by:

Students practice identifying shapes and colors.

Students strengthen their drawing skills by guided practice with the teacher.

Students acquire good hand- eye coordination by learning to cut paper safely along the lines.

Students learn how to properly use materials in the Art Room, such as cleaning paint brushes and caring for markers, pencils, etc.

Students learn how to mix colors and identify Primary and Secondary Colors.

Students will also learn about several Artists and the styles of Art they create by making their own in the style of the famous artists.
